I am a professional photographer - I have no other source of income but my photography. That statement is very important at this time in the photography industry. Since the start of the digital era, there are MANY people out there calling themselves a "professional photographer" that have "day jobs" - I don't. It's very common for people to fall in love with the ease of a digital camera and the to read a book to try and start a part time business. I've been creating stunning, popular photographic images for over 20 years. I very simply describe my interest in photography as my "...one, true, driving passion that fuels my interest in people, the places they live and the lives that they lead…I am happiest behind the camera...". I have a B.S. from Eastern Kentucky University and I've had photography training from many sources including the Hallmark Institute of Photography and outlets in the South and Midwest. I acquired my first camera in 1985 and was first published in 1986. Since then, an internal passion for photography and a successful photography career has now spanned over two decades. I've been a stylistic wedding photographer, photojournalist and commercial photographer. I've been widely published on websites, stock photography, band & musician's albums, newspapers, magazines, calendars, brochures, post cards, posters, corporate presentations, books, political campaigns, various advertising mediums and television stations. In 1999, I created the photographic series "Images of The American Firefighter" and still do work for various fire service outlets. And in 2005, I created the two large-scale (10' x 12') background images for WMAQ (Chicago, NBC, channel 5) television's new weather center design - a night time image and a day time image. The new images can be seen behind the on-duty weather staff member whenever they're standing the the new "Weather Center". If you'd like to see a more complete list of my commercial, band and other clients go to my "Links" or click here. I am the youngest grandson of Americo Grasso (1906 - 1993) and Racilla Stuart-Grasso (1914 - 2006). Americo Grasso was one of the most published and awarded lifestyle photographers of this century. At the time of his passing in 1993, I was given (willed) all of Americo Grasso's negatives, glassine slides, transparencies, photographic prints, camera equipment, notes and documentation. Over the last 5 years I have been cataloging a complete database of images ranging from the early 1900's to the mid 1970's. JodyWarner.com will be the medium for the display and distribution of these images over the next several years. Contact me if you have any questions about the Americo Grasso Images. I exclusively use Nikon 35mm SLRs (Nikon F5's), digital SLRs (Nikon D3's) and associated equipment because of their unmatched quality and reliability. Why do I use Nikons? See my FAQ for the answer. I also exclusively use Lexar flash cards due to their unmatched quality and image reproduction capabilities. Hasselblad medium format cameras and Noblex panoramic cameras are also used for special image projects. My images have been used by; |
